The Endoscopy Unit is part of the Interventional Floor of Royal North Shore Hospital (RNSH) Endoscopy. It operates Monday to Friday and there is an on-call service for after hours. The Nursing Staff provide on call only on weekends from 6pm Friday to 12 midnight Sunday.

The department comprises four dedicated procedure rooms, a PACU (shared with Cardiac Cath Lab) and an endoscope reprocessing facility. The procedures undertaken in the Unit fall under the following specialty areas: Gastroenterology, Respiratory medicine, Colorectal Surgery, Upper GI Surgery and the Gastrointestinal Investigation Unit (oesophageal motility/ano-rectal feedback). We deliver an exceptional standard of nursing care to a diverse range of patients. Our multidisciplinary team is made up of physicians, surgeons, registered and enrolled nurses, radiographers and admin staff.

Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care in collaboration with individual/s and the greater health care team to achieve quality patient care outcome.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Registered Nurse - Division 1 with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Current clinical knowledge and clinical problem solving ability.

Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
