About The Role

We have a rare opportunity for a CT Radiographer to join our Trainee Sonographer program, for a position based across our 3 Radiology Tasmania Hobart clinics (Hobart City, Glenorchy, Rosny).

To be considered for this position, you must be enrolled or be able to enroll as a Student Sonographer undertaking a post-graduate university degree in Diagnostic Medical ultrasound at an Australian university.

You must also have full modality competency across CT (contrast/non-contrast) and X-Ray. The role will involve an average of 3 days per week of training, with 2 days per week of scanning, primarily in CT.

You will be offered thorough on-site training within our private practices to learn from our highly regarded and skilled Sonographers and be part of our professional onsite team.

The Radiology Tasmania Ultrasound training program is structured, provides appropriate scanning and observation time, and will guide you through your post graduate degree over a 2 year period.

Acceptance on our training program comes with a financial agreement that you will provide 3 years of post-qualified service as a Sonographer at Radiology Tasmania.

Relocation support can be provided for candidates based out of state.

About You

  • Must hold a relevant qualification in Medical Imaging Technology, or associated medical field and be working towards qualification in Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound
  • Have strong modality experience across CT and X-Ray
  • Be committed to your own professional development, including embracing ongoing learning as part of professional development
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in order to demonstrate patient care, compassion and empathy
  • Be able to commit to a career with Radiology Tasmania
  • Work rights for Australia or valid Visa
