Join RAAFA today ad our Procurement Officer. Based at our Central Support Office in South Perth, you will support the Procurement Manager and wider Procurement team in delivering day-to-day procurement activities. This role offers valuable exposure to end-to-end procurement processes, supplier engagement, contract administration, and reporting, while developing your understanding of procurement governance, compliance, and risk management practices. This is a full-time role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with operational procurement and contract management.
  • Process purchase orders accurately with correct approvals.
  • Support sourcing, quotes, and supplier evaluations.
  • Maintain purchase order and contract registers.
  • Contribute to procurement reporting and simple analysis (spend summaries, KPIs).
  • Maintain supplier information (contacts, products, delivery schedules).
  • Draft or manage procurement documents (contracts, requisitions, purchase orders).
  • Identify process issues and suggest improvements.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to clarify requirements.
  • Participate in a collaborative, learning-focused team environment.
  • Perform other procurement support tasks as directed.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Proficiency in using procurement software and tools (preferably COUPA).
  • Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple procurement projects at one time.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and internal departments through excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Drivers Licence
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to problem solve and demonstrate successful negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of procurement governance and risk.
  • Knowledge of the full end-to-end procurement process.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office – SharePoint, Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint etc.
  • Ability to think outside of the box and provide the organisation with the best possible outcome.
