Position Type: Permanent Full Time (9 day fortnight, 38 hours/week)

Salary Range: Base Salary $34.24 per hour + super, plus overtime and penalty rates dependent on work performed. Additional entitlements and overtime do not form part of the advertised base salary

We’re looking for a hands-on, trade-qualified Handyman to join our Parks & Playgrounds team. This role is perfect for someone who takes pride in quality workmanship and enjoys working outdoors.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for maintaining, installing, inspecting, and repairing a wide range of park infrastructure and play equipment, ensuring everything meets approved drawings, specifications, and Australian Standards. You’ll need to confidently read and interpret plans and construction drawings, applying your solid trade background to practical, on-the-ground work.

Qualifications And Experience

Essential

  • Current manual "C" class driver’s licence with the ability to obtain an "MR" class licence.
  • Construction Industry White Card (30215 QLD).
  • Demonstrated ability to use power tools to perform necessary work activities.
  • Working With Children Check (Blue Card).

Desirable

  • Trade based background – preferably carpentry or mechanical fitter/welder.
  • Level 2 Operational Inspection course.
  • Demonstrated experience in maintenance of play equipment to the necessary Australian Standards.
  • Ability to safely operate a range of light plant, machinery and equipment associated with maintenance and construction projects within a rural and urban environment.
  • First Aid Certificate.
