About The Role

Maranoa Regional Council is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Tourism Officer for Injune QLD.

This role plays an important part in delivering a welcoming and memorable experience for visitors to the region. You will provide high-quality customer service, share local tourism information and support the day-to-day operations of the Injune Visitor Information Centre.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service & Administration

  • Provide high quality telephone and in person service and support to internal and external customers.
  • Ensure business documents and correspondence is recorded in Council's record management system.
  • Monitor and action relevant customer requests in accordance with Council's Customer Service Charter.
  • Research information and assist with the preparation of reports and presentations to Council Meetings and Councillor Workshops, as required.

Visitor Information Centre Service

  • Deliver exceptional visitor information services, primarily at the Injune Visitor Information Centre.
  • Ensure the Visitor Information Centre maintains an excellent presentation.
  • Conduct reporting and auditing as required by Council.
  • Provide cross-departmental support to ensure a high level of visitor information services across the five Visitor Information Centre's within the Maranoa region, as required.

Tourism Development

  • Identify and develop tourism and local marketing initiatives.
  • Assist in the collection and collation of tourism data, including daily visitor data and social media reviews.
  • Update and improve the exposure of Council's tourism related assets in the Australian Tourism Data Warehouse (ATDW).
  • Assist with tourism related activities and projects within the region.
  • Provide support to local and regional tourism organisations, as required.
