About The Role
The Hotel Manager is the operational and commercial leader of our Adelaide hotel asset. Reporting to the General Manager Australia, you will own the full performance of the property across guest experience, financial results, people leadership and owner relationships. You will lead day-to-day operations while also shaping longer-term strategy, ensuring the hotel consistently delivers strong results and an exceptional guest experience. This role suits someone equally comfortable on the floor with the team and in a P&L review. You will set the standard for service, accountability and pace, while building a high-performing team and strong relationships with owners and key stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Lead all day-to-day hotel operations including Front Office, Housekeeping, Maintenance and Guest Experience
- Ensure apartments and public areas consistently meet Urban Rest presentation and cleanliness standards
- Oversee arrival, in-stay and departure touchpoints to deliver a seamless guest journey
- Drive operational discipline across audits, compliance and preventative maintenance
- Act as the escalation point for complex guest or building issues
Commercial & Financial Performance
- Full ownership of the property P&L
- Drive occupancy, ADR and RevPAR in partnership with Revenue and Sales
- Deliver budgeted GOP and cost controls across labour, COGS and maintenance
- Monitor forecasts, pace and demand trends, taking proactive action where required
- Identify opportunities to grow long-stay and corporate base business
Guest Experience & Brand Standards
- Accountable for NPS and review scores across all channels
- Lead service recovery and guest resolution processes
- Embed a culture of care, consistency and attention to detail
- Implement local initiatives that elevate the experience and differentiate the product
Team Leadership & Culture
- Recruit, develop and retain a strong local leadership team
- Coach and support direct reports including Rooms/Operations/Housekeeping leads
- Set clear expectations and performance goals
- Lead daily and weekly rhythms, ensuring alignment and accountability
- Foster a positive, practical and supportive team culture
Owners & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary relationship lead for owners, agents and building managers
- Provide clear performance reporting and operational updates
- Manage building access, works and stakeholder coordination
- Represent Urban Rest professionally in all external interactions
Systems & Process Excellence
- Drive effective use of PMS, Field Service and reporting tools
- Ensure work orders, audits and maintenance programmes are executed on time
- Improve processes that increase efficiency without compromising guest experience
- Partner with central teams on technology and operational improvements
What We Look For
- 5+ years in hotel leadership, ideally as Hotel Manager or General Manager
- Strong commercial acumen with proven P&L ownership
- Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams (Rooms, Housekeeping, Maintenance)
- Comfortable balancing guest experience with cost control
- Confident communicator with owners and senior stakeholders
- Calm, practical and solutions-focused under pressure
- Comfortable working hands-on in a fast-moving environment
- Flexibility to support a 7-day operation when needed
- Previous Refurbishment experience is highly desirable
