About the Role
We’re seeking a Senior Manager – Business Services to lead a high-performing team and a significant client portfolio. Partnering with Partners and senior stakeholders, you’ll set delivery standards, enhance client outcomes, and advise high-net-worth individuals and international structures.
This role suits a leader who takes ownership end-to-end, setting clear expectations, coaching others to perform at their best, and bringing a calm, commercial lens to complex issues. You’ll be supported by a collaborative leadership group and the broader Ashfords business, with the autonomy to improve how we work and the platform to keep building your capability.
About you
CA/CPA qualified.
Strong working knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards.
Proven ability to lead multiple priorities and deadlines with strong organisation and judgement.
Demonstrated familiarity with cross-border tax matters, including residency, permanent establishment, transfer pricing, double tax agreements, CFCs and thin capitalisation.
Strong people leadership skills, with a track record of developing others and building a sense of belonging and shared outcomes.
Job Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include
Lead end-to-end delivery of monthly and annual tax compliance and associated reporting, ensuring quality, timeliness and a strong client experience.
Build and maintain senior client relationships, acting as a trusted adviser and identifying opportunities to add value.
Oversee month-end and year-end financial processes in line with client timetables, accounting policies and agreed service standards.
Ensure strong practice governance and compliance with legislative and professional requirements, escalating risks early and embedding quality controls.
Collaborate with leaders across the firm to share insights, improve service delivery, and support broader strategic initiatives.
Coach, develop and performance-manage team members, creating clarity, capability and a high-accountability culture.
Provide technical leadership and final review on complex matters, translating technical issues into clear, commercial advice for decision-makers.
Take ownership of portfolio delivery planning resourcing, managing priorities, and supporting sustainable outcomes across quality, timeframes and commercial performance.
Contribute to growth through referrals, proposals and cross-functional collaboration, strengthening long-term client partnerships.
