We are excited to exclusively partner with this highly reputable private Australian developer to help secure an Assistant Development Manager.
Our client, based in South Yarra, have built an enviable reputation over the past 15+ years having delivered some of Melbourne's most iconic mixed use apartment developments.
This ADM opportunity will assist the Senior DM and wider development team across a variety of developments working end to end from post acquisition to project completion.. Our client boasts am $2Billion development pipeline spanning 10 years and possess arguably Melbourne most exciting development project.
Objectives of the role
- DF and DM modelling using Estate Master and managing project ICR’s
- Investor and Board reporting
- Design and Planning
- Sales and Marketing
- Project Delivery
- Manage time effectively and delegate to consultants etc, spend time generally with consideration to overall importance of particular issues
- Use lateral thinking to solve the issues that will arise from a multi-stage project involving residential, commercial and retail development.
- Ensure the value management process is engaged on Developments.
- Achieve or exceed project objectives including budgets and timelines.
Key Responsibilities to include
- Attend various other project specific strategic meetings and review of strategic documents to achieve position objective.
- Comprehend and understand reporting obligations with respect to all legal documentation associated with the MVRC development.
- Assist the Development team with master planning and design documentation, including Development Applications, consistent with the development vision.
- Assist with the preparation of consultancy briefs, negotiating appointments, budgets and tender preparation.
- Manage the information flow to and from consultants and contractors.
- Work collaboratively with the Development team and Sales and Marketing team to coordinate all inputs as required for the project.
- Liaise with the Project Manager regarding performance against the negotiated commercial terms and conditions of the construction contract.
- Understand the design process and ensure the product meets the needs of the particular market and accords with the project vision.
- Understand the Contract of Sale and its relevance to the development including options being offered are capable of being delivered and compliant with the prevailing Legislation.
- Assist monitoring the project Income and Cost Report and develop cost control procedures to monitor/control and report on compliance by all parties within the approved budget.
- Assist with the preparation of PCG reports and minutes and general reporting both internally and externally (Joint Venture partners) as required.
- Various other reasonable responsibilities as director by the Snr DM
The candidate
There a number of hard and soft skills that will see you succeed in this opportunity as detailed below. 3 -7 years property/ development / Architecture experience in multi residential projects (Design, planning, managing consultants, budgets) is preferred.
Hard skills
- Ideally you will have a tertiary qualification in a property related field such as Valuation, Planning, Construction, Architecture.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong with computer applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Experience in using Estate Master viewed preferably
Soft skills
- Initiative / willingness to have a go, to learn & ask question
- Team player
- Time management skills
- Someone who wants to build a career
