Structural Project Engineer

About The Opportunity

An established engineering and manufacturing organisation is seeking a Structural Project Engineer to join its growing engineering team in Perth.

This position offers the opportunity to take ownership of structural engineering deliverables across a diverse portfolio of industrial infrastructure, modular buildings, switchrooms and fabricated steel projects.

You'll work closely with project managers, designers, manufacturing teams and clients to deliver safe, compliant and practical engineering solutions from concept through to construction.

Responsibilities

• Deliver structural designs that meet project, fabrication and regulatory requirements
• Interpret project specifications, client requirements and applicable Australian Standards
• Perform and review structural analysis and design calculations for steel structures
• Review structural drawings and models for compliance, constructability and design intent
• Coordinate with engineering, drafting, manufacturing and project delivery teams
• Liaise with clients, consultants and contractors to resolve technical queries
• Provide technical support during fabrication and construction phases
• Review fabrication drawings and design documentation
• Manage design revisions, approvals and engineering documentation
• Ensure all structural deliverables meet quality, safety and compliance requirements
• Develop lifting and rigging concepts for transportable structures where required
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across engineering processes

About You

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• 5+ years' experience in structural design and/or project engineering
• Strong experience designing steel structures within industrial environments
• Sound knowledge of Australian Standards including AS4100, AS1170, AS1657 and AS/NZS 5131
• Experience using structural analysis software such as SpaceGass, Tekla or similar
• Understanding of steel fabrication, detailing and construction methodologies
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously

Highly Regarded

• Experience within modular buildings, switchrooms, mining or industrial infrastructure
• Exposure to fabrication workshops and manufacturing environments
• Structural drafting or detailing experience
