Senior Interior Designer

STUDIO CARSON KELLY are seeking an experienced interior designer or architect to join our growing team. This role suits someone with real craft and a genuine passion for interiors, confident leading projects from concept through to completion. You will move between residential and commercial work across our Australian and international portfolio, owning the full arc of each project and ensuring every deliverable meets the studio's high standards for creativity, documentation quality and client service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead projects from initial briefing through concept, design development, documentation and construction.
  • Produce high-quality concept presentations, mood boards, FF&E selections, finishes schedules and detailed documentation packages.
  • Oversee project timelines, budgets and client communication to ensure seamless delivery.
  • Manage and coordinate external consultants including builders, engineers and suppliers.
  • Attend site meetings, design workshops and client presentations.
  • Ensure all work aligns with the Studio Carson Kelly aesthetic, ethos and quality standards.
  • Review drawings, resolve site issues and provide construction support as required.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of current materials, suppliers, industry trends and compliance requirements.

Required Experience & Skills

  • Minimum 5 years' post graduate industry experience within an interior design or architecture studio.
  • Demonstrated experience running high-end residential and/or commercial projects end-to-end, with a portfolio that shows it.
  • Strong spatial planning, concept development and design detailing capability.
  • Proficiency in Vectorworks is essential.
  • Advanced documentation skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong presentation, communication and client-management skills.
  • Ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously while working collaboratively within a team.
  • A passion for materiality, craftsmanship and delivering spaces that elevate how people live.
  • Australian work rights are required for this position.
