We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Project Policy Officer to join a high-performing regulatory team delivering environmental and regulatory outcomes across Victoria.
Reporting to the Team Leader, you will support the continuous improvement of the Permissioning Branch by developing, documenting, and maintaining business processes, procedures, guidance materials, and digital tools that enable efficient and consistent assessment of permission applications.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong business process improvement, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills who enjoys translating complex operational requirements into practical business solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Document and map business processes using Microsoft Visio to support the development of an end-to-end assessment framework.
- Work closely with senior officers and subject matter experts to capture current and future-state workflows, business rules, and operational requirements.
- Develop, maintain, and improve operational procedures, guidance materials, templates, and quick reference guides.
- Migrate and maintain procedures, guides, and supporting documentation within SharePoint.
- Support consultation activities with stakeholders across the Permissioning Branch to understand business needs and identify improvement opportunities.
- Assist with the development and implementation of process improvements and operational enablers.
- Support user acceptance testing and validation of digital solutions and system enhancements.
About You
- Experience in business improvement, process mapping, business analysis, operational policy, or continuous improvement roles.
- Strong experience developing business process maps using Microsoft Visio.
- Practical experience using SharePoint for document management, content migration, and knowledge management.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Planner or similar project and workflow management tools.
- Experience working within government, regulatory, compliance, environmental, planning, licensing, or public sector environments.
- Understanding of regulatory assessment, approval, licensing, or permissioning processes.
