Great opportunity for an experienced communications and stakeholder professional to join a landmark Defence infrastructure project working for the head contractor.

A market leading Tier 2 head contractor delivering a major Defence infrastructure project is seeking a Stakeholder / Interface Communications Manager to join the project team in Perth, WA. This role sits within a high-profile program supporting international Defence cooperation.

The Stakeholder Liaison Lead is responsible for bridging project delivery teams with corporate communications, marketing, and external stakeholders. The role ensures that project activities, milestones, and outcomes are communicated clearly, consistently, and strategically to support project success, organisational reputation, and stakeholder engagement.

Working closely with project leadership, Defence clients, and corporate communications teams, you will play a key role in shaping messaging, managing expectations, and ensuring all communications align with contractual, regulatory, and brand requirements

Role KPIs

  • Timely delivery of project communications and campaigns
  • Stakeholder satisfaction and engagement levels
  • Alignment of project messaging with corporate brand and strategy
  • Quality and impact of content produced (internal and external)
  • Compliance with governance and approval processes

Responsibilities include but not limited to

Project Communications

  • Develop and implement communication strategies targeted at key clients and stakeholders
  • Translate technical project information into clear, audience-friendly messaging
  • Coordinate internal updates (e.g. newsletters, intranet, leadership briefs)
  • Support crisis or issue communications where required
  • Track and report on communications effectiveness and engagement metrics
  • Support approvals processes for client-facing communications, media and public announcements

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as the primary liaison between project teams, clients, and communications/marketing functions
  • Manage stakeholder communications to ensure alignment, transparency, and trust
  • Ensure consistent, accurate and proactive messaging to manage expectations on project performance
  • Support project leadership in framing issues, delays, or risks in a controlled and professional manner
  • Prepare briefings, updates and key messaging for senior client interactions
  • Gather client feedback and provide insights to improve engagement and campaign performance
  • Ensure communications comply with Defence protocols, contractual requirements, and confidentiality obligations

Marketing & Brand Alignment

  • Develop case studies, project profiles, and capability statements showcasing performance and outcomes
  • Coordinate project announcements, media releases, and communication campaigns
  • Ensure all communications align with corporate brand, ESG, and messaging frameworks
  • Capture project milestones through visual storytelling (photography, video, site content)

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing or similar (desirable)
  • Strong experience in stakeholder engagement, communications, or interface management roles
  • Strong ability to translate complex technical information into clear communication outputs
  • Experience working in Defence, infrastructure, construction, or similarly regulated environments (highly regarded)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing capability at senior levels
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Understanding of governance, approvals, and compliance frameworks
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and content management tools
