Paramount Lawyers Vic is a growing commercial and property law firm based in Truganina. We deliver practical, commercially focused legal services to developers, investors, lenders and private clients across Melbourne’s west and Victoria.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Property Lawyer to join our team to deliver conveyancing, Litigation and town planning services. You will manage matters from engagement to settlement, provide practical town planning advice, liaise with councils, drafting and negotiating instruments, and support business development.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage a mixed caseload of residential, rural and commercial conveyancing matters (sales, purchases, refinances, transfers, settlements).
  • Provide town planning advice, prepare and review planning permit applications, liaise with local councils and consultants, and advise on planning risk and strategy.
  • Draft and negotiate contracts, section 32 statements, easements, covenants, planning agreements and subdivision documentation.
  • Conduct due diligence, title searches, and advise on planning and statutory requirements.
  • Communicate clearly with clients, lenders, brokers, local government and other stakeholders.
  • Supervise/minor mentoring of junior staff and conveyancers as required.
  • Ensure compliance with professional conduct rules and firm risk processes.

Selection criteria / skills & experience

  • Unrestricted Victorian practising certificate (required).
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ post-admission experience in property law, including conveyancing, litigation and town planning (or equivalent demonstrated experience).
  • Strong knowledge of Victorian planning schemes, Planning and Environment Act, subdivision process and conveyancing practice.
  • Proven technical drafting and negotiation skills; attention to detail.
  • Excellent client service, communication and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Current Victorian drivers licence desirable.
