At O’Brien, we’re seeking a Systems Accountant to support and optimise our Oracle Fusion environment, helping ensure our finance systems remain accurate, efficient, and aligned with business needs.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, this role acts as a trusted partner between Finance and Technology, supporting the effective operation and continuous improvement of Oracle Fusion.

You’ll collaborate with stakeholders across Finance, IT, and the broader business to ensure the system supports accounting requirements, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the ongoing effectiveness of Oracle Fusion, including system design, controls, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Assist in resolving complex functional and accounting issues while maintaining system governance and best practice
  • Partner with Finance teams to ensure systems align with accounting standards and support month-end and year-end processes
  • Support configuration and maintenance across key areas including accounting rules, allocations, FX, inventory costing, and intercompany
  • Assist with governance, including segregation of duties, audit processes, control reviews, and documentation
  • Contribute to Chart of Accounts maintenance, master data governance, and accurate reporting structures
  • Support system changes, including Oracle releases, UAT, vendor coordination, and enhancement adoption
  • Assist with integrations, data integrity, and user capability through training, support, and issue resolution

About You

You’re a collaborative and technically capable accountant who enjoys working across teams to improve systems and processes.

Requirements

  • CA/CPA qualified
  • Degree in Accounting or Commerce
  • Approximately 5+ years’ experience in a systems or technical accounting role
  • Experience with ERP systems (Oracle Fusion highly regarded)
  • Strong understanding of financial systems, controls, and processes
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving ability
