We're looking for an experienced and commercially minded Head of Financial Operations to lead our accounting function, strengthen financial controls, optimise systems & processes, and develop a high-performing team.

Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the integrity of Huon's financial operations while helping shape the future of our finance systems, reporting capability and business processes.

In this leadership role, you'll:

• Lead and develop Huon's accounting team, building capability, accountability and performance.
• Oversee core financial operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable and purchasing.
• Drive continuous improvement across finance systems, processes and controls.
• Own key finance platforms including SAP, Innova and Esker, ensuring they support efficient business operations and decision-making.
• Lead month-end and year-end close activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely reporting.
• Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with audit, statutory, SOX and corporate reporting requirements.
• Develop meaningful exception reporting and performance insights to identify risks and opportunities early.
• Partner with stakeholders across the business to improve financial processes, procurement practices and operational efficiency.
• Play a key role in the implementation of future ERP and finance system initiatives alongside JBS corporate finance.

What you'll need to be successful

• CPA or CA qualification with tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline.
• Significant experience leading accounting or finance operations functions.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and experience managing annual audit processes.
• Demonstrated experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
• Experience working with ERP systems and driving process improvement initiatives.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across all levels of the business.
• Strong analytical capability and a continuous improvement mindset.
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the ability to navigate change with confidence.
