Position Overview

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Business Development Representative to join our team. In this road-based role, you will take ownership of building new client relationships and strengthening existing partnerships within the civil infrastructure sector. You’ll spend much of your time engaging with customers on-site, identifying opportunities, and representing our company’s value proposition across Victoria.

This is a hands-on, customer‑facing role suited to someone who thrives on relationship building, communication, and turning opportunities into long-term business success.

You will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, managing existing accounts, and driving revenue growth through strategic sales efforts, exceptional customer service, and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities within the civil infrastructure market
  • Strengthen and grow relationships with key clients through regular site visits and proactive engagement
  • Present the organisation’s value proposition to prospective and existing clients, highlighting quality, service, and technical expertise
  • Attend industry events and conferences to expand your network and uncover new opportunities
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop effective promotional materials and campaigns
  • Work closely with the manufacturing and logistics teams to ensure seamless project delivery and customer satisfaction
  • Maintain accurate sales activity records, client data, and pipeline information using CRM and data analysis tools
  • Prepare and deliver professional sales proposals, quotes, and presentations
  • Negotiate commercial terms and contracts to achieve win‑win outcomes
  • Provide market insights and feedback to management on emerging opportunities, client needs, and competitor activity
  • Meet or exceed agreed business development KPIs and revenue targets

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience in business development or sales, ideally within construction, manufacturing, or civil infrastructure industries
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and organisational skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experience using Reckon desirable but not essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to build rapport and maintain relationships at all levels
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales KPIs and driving revenue growth
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while working independently on the road
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and CRM systems
  • Strong data analysis and reporting skills
  • Professional presentation and a customer-first mindset
  • Full driver’s licence (this role involves regular travel to client sites across Victoria)

Desirable Qualifications

  • Knowledge of civil infrastructure products and applications
  • Experience in the precast concrete or construction materials sector
  • Understanding of civil engineering principles and project requirements
  • Natural leadership qualities with experience mentoring and building relationships
