What They Are Looking For
They are seeking a Senior Cost Estimator / Engineer to join their Brisbane team, reporting directly to senior commercial and project advisory leaders. This position will play a critical role in providing estimating, cost planning and commercial support across major infrastructure, civil engineering and capital works projects.
The role has been created to support continued growth across a substantial pipeline of infrastructure projects currently progressing through planning, procurement and delivery phases. The successful candidate will work closely with clients and project teams to develop robust cost estimates, assess project risks, support procurement activities and contribute to strategic project decision-making on some of Australia's most important infrastructure investments.
This opportunity will suit an experienced estimator or engineer who enjoys working on large-scale infrastructure programmes, has strong analytical capability and thrives in technically complex project environments. The ideal candidate will be commercially aware, detail-oriented and capable of engaging confidently with clients, contractors and senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities
- Develop detailed cost estimates and cost plans for major infrastructure and civil projects
- Prepare feasibility estimates, budget forecasts and project benchmarking reports
- Support procurement planning and tender evaluation processes
- Analyse project risks and opportunities to improve cost certainty
- Prepare and review quantities, pricing schedules and estimate documentation
- Support project controls, forecasting and cost reporting activities
- Engage with clients, contractors and infrastructure delivery stakeholders
- Assist in developing commercial strategies and project delivery methodologies
- Review project documentation, drawings and technical specifications
- Contribute to value engineering and cost optimisation initiatives
- Support business case development and investment decision-making processes
- Provide commercial insight throughout project planning and delivery phases
Criteria for the Role
- Degree-qualified in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related discipline
- 8+ years' experience in estimating, cost engineering or project controls
- Strong experience working on major infrastructure, civil engineering, transport, utilities, energy or resources projects
- Excellent understanding of estimating methodologies and cost planning principles
- Proficiency with estimating and project controls software
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Professional membership with AIQS, Engineers Australia, RICS or equivalent highly regarded
What’s On Offer
The role offers a salary of up to $230,000 + Superannuation, dependent on experience, technical capability and infrastructure project background.
