What They Are Looking For
They are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to join their Brisbane team, working across major infrastructure, construction and resources projects. Reporting to senior commercial leadership, the role will play a key part in managing contractual and commercial outcomes across complex project environments.
This appointment has been created to support continued growth across a significant portfolio of infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will provide expert contractual advice, support procurement and commercial strategy development, manage claims and variations, and ensure projects are protected from contractual and commercial risk.
The ideal candidate will be a commercially astute professional with strong contract administration expertise, excellent negotiation skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with clients and project stakeholders. This role will suit someone who enjoys solving complex contractual challenges while contributing to the successful delivery of nationally significant infrastructure programmes.

Responsibilities
- Manage contractual and commercial performance across major infrastructure and construction projects
- Provide strategic advice on procurement methodologies and contract structures
- Develop, negotiate and administer head contracts and subcontract agreements
- Lead contract compliance, governance and risk management activities
- Assess and manage variations, claims, extensions of time and contractual entitlements
- Support dispute avoidance and dispute resolution processes
- Prepare and review commercial reports, forecasts and contract performance metrics
- Advise project teams on contractual obligations, risks and opportunities
- Support procurement activities including tender preparation and evaluation
- Build and maintain strong client, contractor and stakeholder relationships
- Review project documentation and commercial records to support contractual positions
- Mentor and support junior commercial and contracts professionals
Criteria for the role
- Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, Law or a related discipline
- 8+ years' experience in contracts management, commercial management or project advisory roles
- Strong infrastructure, civil engineering, utilities, energy or resources project experience
- Excellent contract administration and contract interpretation skills
- Proven experience managing claims, variations and contractual risk
- Strong knowledge of major contract forms and procurement models
- Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills
- Membership of AIQS, RICS, Engineers Australia or equivalent professional body highly regarded

The ro le offers a salary of up to $230,000 + Su perannuation, dependent on experience and project background.
