We are seeking a Manager Employee Communications to strategically lead our approach to internal communication that delivers on the Communication and Engagement Division purpose and the Ambulance Victoria (AV) Strategic Plan.

This position is a 12-month fixed term parental leave cover. While WFH/Hybrid options are available, it is essential that the successful applicant maintains a presence at Doncaster in line with our hybrid working model.

About The Role

Reporting to the Senior Manager Employee Communication, this is an exciting opportunity for a creative communicator who thrives on bringing ideas to life. You'll build strong, trusted relationships with stakeholders across the organisation, and partner closely with team's design, deliver and continuously elevate strategic and operational internal communication programs, campaigns and content that truly connects with our people.

Responsibilities of this position include but not limited to:

  • Lead and inspire the development of engaging, integrated communication programs that cut through – using best practice approaches to drive connection, engagement and behaviour change
  • Conceptualise and deliver creative, high-impact internal communication initiatives, from always-on content to standout campaigns, leveraging new tools, formats and technologies
  • Partner across the business and in collaboration with the wider Communication nd Engagement Division to shape and deliver cohesive, audience-first communication strategies as part of broader organisational priorities
  • Champion innovation and continuous improvement to foster a collaborative, high-performing culture within the team

About You

We're looking for someone who loves experimenting with new approaches, isn't afraid to think differently and is passionate about creating communications that engage, inspire and drive real behaviour change.

To be considered for this position you will be tertiary qualified in a relevant discipline (communication, public relations, marketing or journalism) with relevant experience or have combination of high level demonstrated knowledge and experience. Other requirements include but not limited to:

  • Proven senior experience in developing, implementing and evaluating strategic communication strategies, programs and policies across a range of multi-disciplinary functions
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of best practice employee communication approaches and principles of behaviour change
  • Experience managing large-scale strategic communication projects
  • Sound communication, analytical and business writing skills, with contemporary digital technology experience
  • Proven leadership skills in fast-paced, dynamic environments
