The Role

A Policy Administrator is responsible for managing and overseeing the lifecycle of policies, which can include drafting, implementing, and ensuring compliance with those policies.

Main accountabilities:

• Drafting, updating, and maintaining policies, ensuring they are current, accurate, and aligned with the relevant goals and legal requirements.
• Implementing new policies, communicating them to relevant stakeholders, and ensuring everyone understands their responsibilities.
• Handling data related to policies, tracking policy usage, and generating reports to monitor compliance and identify areas for improvement.

The Team

The position of Policy Administrator forms a part of the Outdoor Recreation, Combat Sports and Strategic Policy branch within the Sport and Experience Economy group.

Sport and Experience Economy (SEE) is comprised of Tourism, Events and Entities (TEE), Community Sport and Recreation (CSR), Professional Sport and Tourism Infrastructure (PSTI) and Outdoor Recreation, Combat Sports and Strategic Policy (ORCSSP). The Outdoor Recreation Unit develops policy, programs, and regulation to enable investment and job generation through the sustainable development of the State's hunting, fishing, and boating sectors.

About You

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:

• Systems Thinking: Assesses situations and identifies the best systems tools for analysing, understanding the system and addressing problems; Can apply system archetypes to identify common dynamics that appear in different situations.
• Data Literacy: Considers data sources, collection and structure impacts in the delivery of data analysis. Generates descriptive statistics and relevant data visualisation leading to decisions under the guidance from subject matter experts.
• Policy Design and Development: Interprets and applies policies relevant to own work; Drafts policies and business cases using research skills and in consultation with relevant stakeholders.
• A tertiary qualification in public policy, law, economics, natural resource management, commerce or science, or another relevant discipline would be well regarded.
