Primary objective

The Team Leader plays a crucial role in ensuring the effective operation of the Frontline Systems Support team by providing

leadership, guidance, training and support in the delivery of complex, high-volume, data processing, remediation, and quality

assurance tasks. The role is responsible for overseeing the accuracy, proper interpretation, and comprehensive documentation of

data across various police business systems. The Team Leader will mentor and provide instruction to junior members, ensuring

their work aligns with the Command’s priorities.

Key duties and responsibilities

1. Provide leadership, direction, training and support to a team managing data processing and system integrations, ensuring

compliance with relevant legislation, meeting reporting requirements, and achieving performance objectives.

2. Support the team in maintaining exceptional service standards by providing professional expertise and advice, fostering

effective and efficient work practices, and ensuring the timely completion of tasks.

3. Develop, implement and maintain policies and procedures to enhance data handling practices and ensure consistent service

delivery.

4. Lead and support the efficient use of business systems while maintaining high standards of data integrity and security

throughout information exchanges and systems access.

5. Assist in the resolution of data-related issues by implementing rigorous quality assurance protocols, ensuring accuracy, integrity,

and compliance with policies and procedures.

6. Facilitate data exchanges between internal teams and external clients, partners and stakeholders, ensuring services meet the

required standards and expectations.

Selection criteria

Essential

1. Demonstrated leadership skills and experience in training, guiding and mentoring staff responsible for processing of sensitive,

complex data in a regulated environment.

2. Knowledge of, or the ability to quickly acquire knowledge of, legislation relevant to Banned Drinker Orders.

3. Proven ability to analyse and interpret highly complex data, with well-developed problem-solving skills, and the capacity to lead

a team in maintaining high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.

4. Highly developed self-motivation, time management, and organisational skills, with the flexibility to prioritise tasks, manage

competing demands, work under pressure, and adapt to changing priorities.

5. Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, including experience working with diverse groups of people,

enabling effective collaboration, cooperation and information exchange.

6. Proven experience utilising a range of software applications and the ability to quickly learn new systems.

Desirable

1. Knowledge and experience using Police business systems including SerPro, MDEA, IJIS and PDE.
