Draftsperson

Rarekind

Remote

When people think of modular homes, they often picture standardised designs and repetitive projects.

That’s not what happens here.

From custom family homes on rural acreage to lifestyle communities and residential developments, every project brings something different.

One week you could be preparing plans for a home on a rural block outside Cessnock, the next you’re working through council requirements for a residential build in an established suburb.

This organisation is a well-established modular home builder delivering quality homes across NSW. Over the last five years, they’ve grown from building around 40 homes per year to more than 120, and they’re continuing to expand as demand increases.

As part of this growth, they’re looking for a Draftsperson to join their team, based in Heatherbrae, NSW.

This is a fully in-office role, working closely with the wider team in a collaborative, hands-on environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

Working closely with the planning, construction and project delivery teams, you'll play a key role in bringing residential modular projects to life.

You'll be responsible for preparing and maintaining building documentation, supporting council submissions, and ensuring projects progress smoothly through each stage of the process.

No two days are exactly the same, but you’ll:

  • Produce residential building drawings and documentation using ArchiCAD
  • Prepare plans and supporting documentation for council approvals
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders, consultants and local authorities
  • Manage multiple projects across various stages of design and approval
  • Update drawings and documentation as projects evolve
  • Support the wider team to ensure quality outcomes for clients across NSW

You'll typically have a number of active projects on the go at any one time, while also having access to support from experienced colleagues and external consultants when required.

What You’ll Bring

We're open-minded when it comes to experience.

You might be an experienced Draftsperson looking for a new challenge, or someone earlier in your career who's developed a solid foundation and is ready to keep learning.

What's more important is your attitude.

You'll bring:

  • Experience using ArchiCAD, or a strong understanding of the platform
  • Residential drafting, building design or construction industry experience
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
  • A proactive and accountable approach to your work
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset

You'll enjoy working in an environment where people help each other out, take ownership of their responsibilities and focus on delivering great outcomes as a team.

Your new organisation

A family-owned residential builder specialising in modular construction throughout NSW.

Employing around 30 people, they've built a reputation for delivering high-quality homes while maintaining the values that helped them grow in the first place.

The culture is refreshingly straightforward. The structure is flat, the leadership team remains hands-on, and respect for one another sits at the centre of how they operate.

There are opportunities to learn and develop, but not at the expense of others. People work together, support each other and leave the ego at the door.

They're passionate about finding good people, backing them to succeed and continuing to grow the business the right way.
