Rare opportunity for a skilled corporate advisory specialist to join the in-house legal team of a Brisbane-headquartered ASX-50 company.

As Senior Legal Counsel - Corporate, you will advise on a broad range of complex, strategic and high-profile matters across The Lottery Corporation, including corporate transactions, capital management, governance, and listed company matters.

Working closely with the Deputy General Counsel - Corporate Services, you will play a key role in supporting critical business functions and help The Lottery Corporation navigate complex legal and regulatory issues with commerciality and judgement.

What you'll do

  • Provide high-quality, commercially focussed legal advice to a broad portfolio of internal stakeholders, including Company Secretariat, Corporate Development, Treasury & Investor Relations, Statutory Reporting, Tax and Property teams.
  • Advise on a wide range of corporate transactions, strategic projects and business initiatives
  • Support Treasury on debt portfolio matters and advise on capital management initiatives
  • Partner with the Company Secretariat team on governance, corporate reporting and listed company matters
  • Work closely with colleagues across Legal & Regulatory teams to support broader commercial and strategic priorities
  • Monitor and help manage regulatory developments relevant to the corporate portfolio
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve processes and ways of working across the team.

What you'll bring

  • Law degree and admitted to practice, with at least 8 years post admission experience in an in-house and/or private practice environment
  • Demonstrated experience advising on complex M&A and corporate finance transactions (debt and equity)
  • Specialist knowledge of corporate and commercial law, governance, and legal issues relevant to ASX-listed entities
  • Sound judgment, commerciality, and the ability to provide pragmatic advice on strategic matters
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation and stakeholder management skills, with confidence engaging senior executives and cross-functional teams
  • Ability to operate autonomously - a self-starter with initiative and drive
  • A proactive, collaborative approach and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-complexity environment
