System & Security Analyst
Fabric Group
Established more than 20 years ago, we are a growing, Melbourne-headquartered software engineering consultancy. With a team of over 130, our core focus is delivering business-critical digital products to our clients. Our teams work alongside our customers to dissect their complex problems and convert them into value-driven solutions, combining innovative principles in development, design, analysis and quality automation. We utilise Design Thinking and Agile practices to rapidly create customer and business first software, testing and embracing new technologies and trends along the way.
Fabric Group has been growing rapidly over the past few years and we’ll maintain this pace to meet the needs of business growth in the upcoming years. Join Fabric as our Junior Systems & Security Compliance Analyst, working directly under our Information Security Officer (ISO). This is a hands-on internal role where you’ll help keep our environment secure and well-managed day to day: managing access across key platforms, provisioning and securing endpoints, and maintaining clean, consistent configurations. You’ll also support security governance and compliance activities — access reviews, evidence collection, audit preparation, and helping ensure we can clearly demonstrate how our controls operate. You’ll handle internal requests in your scope, partner with our external SOC for alert follow-ups, and escalate potential incidents or higher-risk issues to the ISO. If you’re detail-oriented, love owning systems properly, and want a clear pathway into security governance and compliance, this role is for you.
What You Will Do
Identity & Access Management (IAM)
- Manage the user lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, and role changes, ensuring access rights are provisioned correctly and in a timely manner.
- Conduct regular user access reviews to ensure permissions are accurate and up-to-date.
- Perform general administration and manage user accounts across all internal platforms, including Google Workspace, AWS, Azure, Office 365, Slack, Confluence, Trello, JetBrains, and GitHub.
- Facilitate project team access and environment setup across all platforms, implementing and managing Single Sign-On (SSO) where applicable.
Endpoint & System Security
- Provision and configure employee laptops and devices according to company security standards.
- Manage and monitor endpoint security software and respond to alerts.
- Assist in the patch management process to ensure servers and endpoints are protected from known vulnerabilities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve security-related issues on user devices and systems.
- Manage the setup and ongoing maintenance of Jamf MDM across all Fabric-owned devices, including Zero Touch deployments.
- Ensure all devices remain compliant with security policies, such as the installation and automated checking of Cortex XDR for endpoint protection
Security Operations & Monitoring
- Collaborate with our third-party Security Operations Centre (SOC) to monitor, investigate, and respond to security alerts and incidents.
- Review and validate alerts escalated by the SOC, conducting additional analysis and triage as required escalating potential incidents to the Information Security Officer.
- Assist with running vulnerability scans and help coordinate remediation with the relevant teams.
- Support the incident response process by gathering evidence and performing assigned tasks.
- Conduct weekly checkpoint meetings to review and address ongoing security concerns and initiatives.
Security Support & Administration
- Act as the first point of contact for employees with security-related questions or issues.
- Assist in running phishing simulation campaigns and other security awareness initiatives.
- Maintain clear and accurate documentation for security processes, configurations, and procedures.
- Support the Information Security Officer by gathering evidence and documentation required for security audits and compliance checks.
- Coordinate with partners to manage physical security assets like access points, cameras, Fabric Networks, and in-office server rack hardware.
IT Asset & Platform Management
- Maintain an up-to-date inventory of all Fabric-owned laptops, tracking their status and assigned users.
- Oversee the laptop lifecycle from procurement and deployment to decommissioning, coordinating repairs and maintenance as needed.
- Oversee and manage software licences, ensuring compliance and efficient allocation.
- Monitor and manage platform-related costs, identifying and removing unused resources to reduce expenses.
- Conduct regular cleanup activities across all platforms to remove obsolete resources and ensure environments are optimised and secure.
What We Are Looking For
- 2+ years in IT operations, systems administration, endpoint management, or security/compliance support.
- Hands-on experience with user lifecycle management, device provisioning, and SaaS/cloud platforms (Mac, Windows, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, AWS/Azure).
- Solid understanding of identity & access management, endpoint security, and basic security operations.
- Maintains accurate documentation, trackers, and audit-ready evidence consistently.
- Highly organised, process-driven, pragmatic, and calm under pressure.
- Enjoys creating order, maintaining standards, and ensuring recurring security/admin processes run reliably.
- Bonus experience: Kandji/IRU, endpoint security tools, vulnerability management, or frameworks like ISO 27001 or SOC 2.
If this sounds like you, you’ll thrive in a role where you grow your security governance skills while keeping operations secure and efficient.
