About Allied Health services
Allied Health at Cabrini is a rapidly expanding and highly integrated service comprising twelve professional disciplines. The department plays a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care across the organisation.

How you will make an impact
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Music Therapist to deliver group therapy sessions within our Palliative Care / Oncology inpatient ward. In this role, you will provide tailored, evidence-based music therapy interventions aligned with each patient’s physical, psychological, and spiritual needs, capabilities, and interests.
You will also work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team and contribute to teaching, training, research, and quality improvement activities as required. This is a part time maternity leave cover position for 12 months.
As a Music Therapist, you will:
Create a safe and supportive environment where patients can express themselves, build resilience, and connect through music.
Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to support recovery through creative and therapeutic approaches.
Plan, lead, and participate in instrumental and vocal music activities, including group singing, rhythmic exercises, music listening, and other creative interventions.
Deliver sessions using techniques such as guided imagery and relaxation.
Contribute to staff development through education, training, and knowledge sharing.
Act as a role model by promoting professional values, ethics, and best practice.
Support program development, quality initiatives, and continuous improvement activities.
What we're looking for
You are a qualified Music Therapist registered with AMTA and bring:
Experience in palliative care settings.
Strong group facilitation skills and a compassionate, patient-centred approach.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
