The Opportunity
CSR are seeking an experienced and commercially astute
Risk & Debt Recovery Manager to join our team based in North Ryde. This is a key leadership role responsible for managing credit risk across the business while driving effective debt recovery strategies to support sustainable growth.
Reporting to the National Credit Manager, you will oversee the end-to-end credit risk function, ensuring a balanced approach between enabling sales growth and minimising exposure to bad debts. You'll lead a small, high-performing team and play a critical role in shaping and executing credit strategies across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and approve new accounts, evaluating commercial credit risk
- Manage credit risk across the entire ledger, while supporting sales & minimising bad debts
- Lead and develop a team of 5 across credit risk, debt recovery, and customer master data
- Initiate credit limit increases for the wider team where required
- Support collections and drive debt recovery outcomes
- Contribute to credit strategy and risk management initiatives
- Prepare bad and doubtful debt reporting
About You
You are a confident leader with strong commercial judgement and a proactive approach to managing risk. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and bring a continuous improvement mindset to everything you do.
Your Experience And Capabilities Will Include
- Minimum 5+ years' experience in a similar credit risk or debt recovery leadership role
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to coach, develop and support team members
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal) with a professional and confident approach
- Demonstrated ability in negotiation and conflict resolution
- Excellent stakeholder management and customer engagement skills
- Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively
- A continuous improvement mindset with a focus on process optimisation
- Intermediate proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Excel
