Senior GCP Platform Engineer

6-Month Contract + Extensions Inner Suburbs Melbourne | Hybrid (3 Days Onsite)

An iconic Australian organisation is seeking an experienced Senior GCP Engineer to join a high-performing technology team delivering modern cloud and platform engineering solutions at scale.

This is an exciting opportunity to work across enterprise-grade Google Cloud environments, secure CI/CD pipelines, and modern engineering practices within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.

What You'll Be Doing

• Designing, building, and supporting secure cloud-native solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Developing and maintaining secure CI/CD pipelines using GitLab
• Working across coreGCP services including:
  • BigQuery
  • Cloud Run
  • Google Compute Engine (GCE)
  • GCP Storage
  • GCP Project creation and management
• Driving best practices across cloud engineering, automation, security, and compliance
• Collaborating closely with engineers, platform teams, and stakeholders across the business
• Supporting Agile delivery practices and continuous improvement initiatives

What We're Looking For

• 5-7+ years' experience developing and managing software/platform engineering solutions
• Strong hands-on experience across Google Cloud Platform technologies and services
• Proven expertise building and supporting secure code pipelines and CI/CD using GitLab
• Strong understanding of security and compliance engineering concepts
• Experience across multiple programming languages, with Golang highly preferred
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Ability to influence outcomes and drive initiatives proactively
• Collaborative mindset with a passion for sharing knowledge and improving team outcomes
• Comfortable working within Agile environments and driving modern ways of working
