About the opportunity
At Mercy Health, you'll become part of a proud history built on over 100 years of expertise, skill and care. This is a 12-month fixed-term opportunity with a strong focus on driving execution of the current strategy and supporting early planning for the next strategic cycle.
You will lead the organisation's Integrated Planning Approach, ensuring strategic priorities are translated into aligned business plans, measurable outcomes, and coordinated execution across diverse health and aged care services.
Working closely with the Group Executive and senior leaders, you will:
- Help align teams around what matters most
- Build clear and practical planning and performance approaches
- Provide insight into progress, risks, and opportunities
- Support confident, informed decision-making at Executive and Board level
The role also contributes to priority strategic initiatives and acts as a key point of coordination across the organisation for strategy execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Bring our Group strategy to life and support its ongoing evolution
- Lead and continuously strengthen our integrated planning approach
- Coordinate development of the annual Group Plan
- Partner with leaders to build strong, practical business plans and KPIs
- Provide clear, thoughtful insights and high-quality briefings for Executive and Board
- Surface emerging risks, challenges, and opportunities early
- Contribute to strategic initiatives and transformation efforts
What you'll bring
You bring both strategic thinking and a grounded, collaborative approach to getting things done. You're someone who enjoys connecting the big picture with practical action.
- Experience translating strategy into outcomes in complex environments
- Strength in planning, performance frameworks, and KPI design
- Confidence working with and influencing senior stakeholders
- Strong analytical thinking and clear communication
- A calm, pragmatic approach to navigating complexity
- Experience in health, aged care, or similarly complex sectors (desirable)
- Excellent time management, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to adapt and problem solve.
- A compassionate, flexible and positive approach to effective patient care and management.
- The ability to nurture friendly, respectful relationships and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:
