We are seeking an experienced and motivated Policy Lead to join a high-performing regulatory team responsible for delivering environmental and regulatory outcomes across Victoria.

Reporting to the Team Leader, Operating Licences, you will play a key role in implementing and continuously improving a permissioning framework that supports the assessment, approval, and regulation of activities with potential environmental impacts. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to meaningful environmental outcomes while working within a collaborative and forward-thinking regulatory environment. It is a 6 months contract role.

Key Responsibilities

Implement and administer regulatory permissioning frameworks, ensuring applications and approvals are assessed in accordance with relevant legislation and policy.
Contribute to licence review programs and support the ongoing improvement of regulatory processes, procedures, and business systems.
Develop, maintain, and enhance operational policies, procedures, and condition libraries.
Participate in the review of licences and permissions to ensure appropriate controls and regulatory outcomes are achieved.
Support continuous improvement initiatives through process reviews, performance analysis, reporting, and development of training materials.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

Experience working in a regulatory, compliance, environmental, planning, licensing, or government environment.
Strong understanding of legislative and regulatory frameworks and the ability to interpret and apply legislation in practical situations.
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Planning, Law, Public Policy, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Experience within a government regulator or statutory authority.
Knowledge of environmental protection, pollution prevention, waste management, or development assessment processes.
