The Role

The Risk & Compliance Manager is responsible for leading Frontier’s enterprise risk and compliance activities.

The role combines strategic oversight and hands-on delivery, ensuring that risk and compliance obligations are effectively managed, and that risk thinking and disciplined decision making are embedded across the business.

This is a senior, business facing role requiring strong investment industry knowledge, sound judgement and the ability to operate across both enterprise level governance and day-to-day operational execution.

Key Responsibilities

Risk and Compliance Framework

  • Maintain and evolve Frontier’s Risk Management Framework and Compliance Framework
  • Support identification, assessment and management of enterprise and operational risks
  • Oversee compliance obligations and ensure issues are identified, escalated and remediated

Enterprise Risk & ICIO Support

  • Provide practical risk and compliance support across the business, including Portfolio Management, Investment Operations and other functions
  • Perform or support operational due diligence (ODD) on investment managers and service providers

Governance, Reporting and Committees

  • Prepare and present risk and compliance reporting to Executive and governance forums
  • Support the management of incidents, breaches and remediation activities
  • Engage directly with senior stakeholders to explain and challenge risk positions

Knowledge/skills/experience

  • Experience in funds management, superannuation or similar sectors
  • Strong understanding of investment risk, operational risk and compliance frameworks
  • enterprise level (Exec / Committee engagement)
  • operational level (hands-on delivery)
  • Experience with risk and compliance systems (e.g. Protecht or similar)
  • Familiarity with the Australian regulatory environment (ASIC, APRA, AFSL, RG frameworks)
