The Role

As a Strategy & Corporate Development Analyst, you’ll help turn Hello Clever’s biggest growth opportunities into clear, defensible commercial models. Reporting to the Corporate Development & Strategy Director, you’ll work across new markets, new products, strategic partnerships, existing revenue lines, and M&A opportunities to help leadership understand which initiatives can create the

most value, what assumptions need to be true, and where the business should focus its time and capital.

This is a highly commercial role for someone who enjoys working with ambiguity. You will sit with business leaders, understand the strategic logic behind their plans, translate that logic into driver-based projections, and pressure test the assumptions behind them. Your work will help connect strategic thinking with financial evidence, supporting internal prioritisation, investor conversations, fundraising readiness, and long-term planning.

This is not a traditional accounting role or a narrow transaction execution role. We are looking for someone with excellent commercial modelling skills, strong strategic judgment, and the confidence to challenge ideas constructively. You should be comfortable saying, “this looks compelling”, “this does not work yet”, or “the assumptions need to be developed further before we can rely on this.” The ideal candidate is analytical, commercially sharp, and excited by the opportunity to build models where the answer is not obvious. You’ll need to create practical, flexible, and scalable outputs that help the business compare opportunities, understand scenarios, and make better strategic decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build driver-based commercial models for major growth initiatives across markets, products, merchants, partnerships, and M&A opportunities
  • Work directly with business leaders to understand the assumptions behind strategic plans and translate those assumptions into revenue, cost, margin, and timing projections
  • Develop business cases that help leadership assess potential revenue upside, execution risk, resource requirements, and strategic value
  • Pressure test assumptions across pricing, market sizing, adoption, conversion, volumes, take rates, churn, COGS, implementation timelines, and customer economics
  • Help consolidate individual growth initiatives into scalable forecasting frameworks that allow leadership to compare scenarios and understand portfolio-level outcomes
  • Support creating projects and analysis that is commercially robust

About You

  • 2 - 5 years of experience in investment banking, strategy consulting, commercial due diligence, corporate development, strategic finance, FP&A, transaction services, fintech, SaaS, marketplaces, or high-growth startup environments
  • Exceptional financial and commercial modelling skills, especially driver-based revenue modelling, scenario analysis, unit economics, and business case development
  • Strong commercial judgment and the ability to understand what actually drives revenue, margin, customer adoption, and market expansion
  • Comfortable building models from limited information, imperfect data, and early-stage strategic thinking
  • Able to work directly with senior stakeholders, ask thoughtful questions, and extract the assumptions behind their plans
  • Highly proficient in Excel or Google Sheets, with the ability to build models that are flexible, transparent, auditable, and easy for others to use
