  • Eligibility: You must need to have Baseline Security Clearance or above.

  • Working Hours: 7.5 hours a day/ 37.5 hours a week

Role Description

Key duties and responsibilities

This role is responsible for leading the design and development of enterprise information models and data architecture foundations that support complex digital transformation and regulatory reporting initiatives.

The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, and partner agencies to harmonise data models, establish data standards, and support structured information exchange across multiple systems and organisations.

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled Data Architect with strong experience in data modelling, governance, metadata management, and integration design within complex enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop conceptual and logical data models and associated schemas
  • Translate business and regulatory requirements into structured data models, entities, relationships, attributes, business rules, and constraints
  • Lead data harmonisation activities across multiple organisations and systems
  • Develop and maintain reference data standards, controlled vocabularies, and code sets
  • Conduct data mapping, stocktakes, and source system analysis
  • Data dictionaries
  • Metadata repositories
  • Mapping specifications
  • Data standards
  • Exchange schemas
  • Design and document structured data exchange formats (XML and related schemas)
  • Support interoperability and integration patterns across enterprise systems
  • Contribute to data governance, lineage, traceability, and data quality frameworks
  • Engage with stakeholders and working groups to validate and refine architecture deliverables
  • Maintain reusable architecture repositories and documentation
  • Support knowledge transfer and handover activities

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience in enterprise data modelling and schema design
  • Proven ability to translate business requirements into logical data models
  • Experience building data reference models, metadata repositories, and mapping specifications
  • Expertise in reference data management and data harmonisation
  • Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, and metadata management
  • Experience working in complex regulatory or enterprise environments
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Database architecture and data warehouse design
  • Systems design and integration architecture
  • Event-driven integration patterns
  • Experience working within federal government or highly regulated environments
  • Familiarity with SFIA-aligned delivery environments

You are a collaborative and detail-oriented Data Architect who can balance strategic data design with practical delivery outcomes. You are comfortable engaging with both business and technical stakeholders and have experience delivering high-quality architecture artefacts in complex enterprise programs.
