About The Role

We are recruiting for an experienced

Estimator to join a well-established commercial builder delivering projects across South East Queensland.

This role would suit someone with strong commercial construction estimating experience who is confident pricing projects across sectors such as education, health, institutional, commercial and refurbishment works.

You will be involved in the full tender process, from reviewing documentation and scope through to subcontractor engagement, take-offs, pricing, tender submissions and handover to the delivery team.

The business has a strong reputation for delivering complex projects in live and sensitive environments, so attention to detail, accuracy and the ability to understand staging, access, services and stakeholder requirements will be important.

Key Responsibilities

• Review tender documentation, drawings, specifications and project scopes
• Complete detailed take-offs and prepare accurate cost estimates
• Source subcontractor and supplier pricing
• Assess trade coverage, exclusions, risks and tender clarifications
• Prepare tender submissions, pricing schedules and supporting documentation
• Work closely with project managers, site teams and senior management
• Identify buildability issues, staging constraints and project risks
• Assist with value management and alternative construction options where required
• Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers and consultants
• Support tender handover once projects are secured

About You

You will ideally have experience estimating commercial building projects in Queensland, with a strong understanding of subcontractor pricing, construction methodology and tender documentation.

You may currently be working as an Estimator, Junior Estimator ready to step up, or a Contract Administrator with strong pricing experience looking to move into estimating.

Skills & Experience

• Previous estimating experience within commercial construction
• Experience across education, health, institutional, refurbishment or fit-out projects would be highly regarded
• Strong ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications and tender documents
• Confident completing take-offs and preparing tender pricing
• Good subcontractor network across SEQ preferred
• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
• Ability to manage deadlines and multiple tenders at once
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with estimating software such as Bluebeam, Buildsoft, CostX, Cubit or similar would be beneficial
