WA Nature Campaigner

The Wilderness Society WA is seeking a passionate and capable WA Nature Campaigner to support the delivery of strategic environmental campaigns across Western Australia, including key work in the Northern Jarrah Forest and Kimberley regions.
Working as part of a highly collaborative campaigns team, this role will help mobilise community support, influence decision-makers and contribute to people-powered environmental change.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to build or deepen their campaigning experience while working on high-impact conservation outcomes across WA.
About the role
As the WA Nature Campaigner, you will:
- Support the implementation of campaign strategies and priorities across Western Australia
- Assist with campaign research, analysis and development of campaign materials
- Contribute to campaign tactics, advocacy activities and stakeholder engagement
- Support relationship-building with community groups, supporters, alliances and partner organisations
- Work collaboratively with campaigners, organisers, communications and fundraising teams across the organisation
- Assist with campaign communications, events and supporter engagement activities
- Contribute to stakeholder mapping, power analysis and campaign planning processes
- Help monitor campaign progress and support reporting activities
- Contribute to a collaborative, respectful and values-led organisational culture
This role is based in Boorloo / Perth and may involve some travel across WA.
About you
You are a proactive and adaptable campaigner who is passionate about protecting nature and working collaboratively to create change.
You will bring:
- Experience in campaigning, advocacy, community organising or related work
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Initiative, adaptability and a willingness to learn
- Commitment to the purpose and values of the Wilderness Society
Desirable experience includes:
- Experience in environmental or social change campaigning
- Understanding of political and policy processes in WA or nationally
- Experience working with community groups, supporters or alliances
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience
