The Role
This is an opportunity to join a high-performing team where your work will influence strategic decision-making, stakeholder engagement and program development at a state-wide level.
We are looking for an experienced Project Officer to support the development of strategic initiatives, policy recommendations and stakeholder engagement activities.
Working closely with senior leaders, government agencies, community organisations and key external stakeholders, you will undertake research, analyse complex issues, identify opportunities for improvement and contribute to the delivery of impactful policy and program outcomes.
This role is ideally suited to someone who enjoys working across multiple projects, engaging diverse stakeholders and transforming evidence into practical recommendations.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with government agencies, community organisations and external stakeholders to identify priorities, challenges and opportunities.
- Conduct research, consultation and analysis to support policy and program development.
- Undertake gap analyses and develop strategies to address identified issues and opportunities.
- Support the development of evidence-based recommendations and business cases.
- Contribute to strategic projects and initiatives that require cross-agency collaboration.
- Prepare high-quality reports, briefing papers, presentations and recommendations for senior leadership.
- Identify risks, benefits and opportunities associated with proposed initiatives and reforms.
- Support stakeholder engagement activities, workshops, forums and consultation processes.
- Assist with communications and community engagement activities to promote participation and awareness.
- Contribute to whole-of-government responses to emerging policy and strategic issues.
You To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Experience in project coordination, policy development, program delivery or stakeholder engagement.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex information.
- Exceptional written communication skills, including report writing and briefing preparation.
- Demonstrated ability to engage and build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience conducting research, consultation and evidence gathering.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- A collaborative approach and ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Relevant qualifications in public policy, social sciences, project management, business, community development or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
