Primary objective
Provide professional, high quality, client focused human resource advice and support across the NT Public Sector as part of
a team and contribute to the delivery of integrated, contemporary workforce services.
Context statement
Workforce Services are delivered to client agencies under a centralised services model across a geographically dispersed and
culturally diverse NTG environment. The Workforce Management Division provide an enterprise service to the NTPS across
the areas of Employee Relations and Change Management.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide early intervention advice to client agencies on employment matters relating to conflict resolution, workplace
behaviours, performance and absenteeism.
2. Support senior members of the team with complex case management matters and manage less complicated matters.
3. Undertake case administration, including research, analysis and reporting.
4. Develop and maintain effective partnerships with clients, human resource providers and other stakeholders.
5. Assist senior members of the team to undertake information sessions.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Experience and contemporary knowledge of operational HR management.
2. Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish collaborative relationships at all levels.
3. Demonstrated planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and handle sensitive
workforce matters with sound judgement.
4. Well-developed conceptual and analytical skills including the ability to interpret and apply legislation.
5. Strong written communication skills, with experience preparing clear and accurate reports, correspondence and briefing
material.
6. Ability to work independently when needed, while also contributing effectively as part of a team in a client-focused,
centralised HR service environment.
Desirable
1. Relevant qualifications in human resources or a related field.
2. Knowledge and understanding of employment legislation as it relates to Northern Territory Government employees or
ability to obtain.
