Purpose

Working alongside the male Cultural Advisor, the female Cultural Advisor is a key role within Carpentaria's Out of Home Care (OoHC) program, responsible for providing expert cultural guidance, advice, and support to ensure services are delivered in a culturally safe and responsive manner that is grounded in the rights, values, and lived experiences of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, young people, and families.

The ideal candidate

  • Identifies as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.
  • Strong cultural knowledge, relationships, and understanding of Northern Territory cultural and community protocols.
  • Experience working in community services, disability, youth, OoHC, or similar human services.
  • Experience developing and implementing Cultural Support Plans or similar cultural documentation.
