The Role
An exciting career opportunity has arisen for an experienced Trade Mark Administrator to join our growing Intellectual Property Team in Melbourne.
In this role, you will be assisting the Partners and lawyers to manage the team’s thriving IP practice. The core activities will include:
- Preparing and filing trade mark and design applications
- Renewing trade mark and design registrations
- Preparing standard correspondence for trade mark and design matters
- Filing correspondence, evidence and other documents with IP Australia, IPONZ and WIPO
- Processing correspondence from IP Australia, IPONZ and WIPO
- Maintaining the team’s IP management database and monitoring deadlines
- Conducting IP searches to assist with IP portfolio audits, due diligence and competitor watches
- Matter management, including conflict checks, client onboarding, file maintenance and billing
The role is full-time (although 4 days per week will be considered).

Strong experience in undertaking the core activities described above, together with a willingness to learn and
- new skills that the role may require
- A good working understanding of IP Australia, IPONZ and WIPO systems and processes
- Experience using IP management and docketing software (PattsyWave or similar)
- Exceptional communication, attention to detail and diary management skills
- Great team skills, combined with a proven ability to work independently and take responsibility for the activities required in the role
