Transformation Team

Our Transformation team helps organisations reimagine what's possible and deliver impactful results. We partner with clients to uncover their needs, navigate complexity, and drive meaningful change. As a Transformation Consultant at Slalom, you'll be part of a close-knit, collaborative team that operates closer to a strategy firm than a traditional consultancy — meaning everyone plays a meaningful role with the client from day one. You'll work directly with Engagement Leads, receiving clear direction while being empowered to take ownership of your workstream and engage directly with client stakeholders.

The Role: Senior Consultant - Change Management

As the Senior Consultant – Change Management, you will be supporting clients across both public sector and commercial industries through complex, large-scale organisational and technology-driven transformations. This role is responsible for leading the design and delivery of change management strategies that drive adoption, build organisational capability, and achieve measurable outcomes. The Senior Consultant will work closely with client leaders, program teams, and stakeholders to assess change impacts, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure successful transition to future-state operations. While this role will have a strong focus on government engagements, the successful candidate will be expected to operate effectively across a range of industries and client environments. Experience in organisational design, business process design, and operating model transformation is highly beneficial, as this role frequently operates within broader transformation engagements that extend beyond change management.

What you’ll do

  • Lead and execute end-to-end change management strategies for large-scale transformation programs across government and commercial clients, including technology implementations, process modernisation, and organisational restructuring
  • Develop change management plans including stakeholder engagement strategies, communication plans, training frameworks, and resistance management approaches
  • Conduct organisational readiness assessments, change impact analyses, and stakeholder assessments to inform change strategy and planning
  • Support organisational design efforts including the definition of future-state structures, roles, governance models, and spans of control
  • Contribute to operating model transformation engagements, supporting clients in defining how their organisation will function in a transformed environment
  • Participate in business process design and redesign activities, mapping current and future-state processes and ensuring alignment between people, process, and technology
  • Facilitate workshops, focus groups, and working sessions with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
  • Develop and maintain change management deliverables including impact assessments, change readiness surveys, training needs analyses, and adoption metrics
  • Act as a subject matter expert on change management methodologies, tools, and industry-specific considerations
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior consultants on change management practices and client engagement
  • Contribute to business development activities including proposal development, capability presentations, and client pursuits

What you’ll bring

  • 5+ years of experience in organisational change management, with experience across both government and commercial client environments
  • Demonstrated experience leading change management on complex, large-scale transformation programs including technology implementations, ERP modernisation, or digital transformation initiatives
  • Proficiency in change management methodologies and frameworks such as Prosci/ADKAR, Kotter, or equivalent
  • Experience in organisational design, business process design, and/or operating model transformation preferred
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage and influence at the senior leadership level
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience developing executive-level communications, presentations, and program documentation
  • Experience designing and facilitating training programs, workshops, and stakeholder engagement sessions
  • APMG Change Management Certification Prosci Change Management Certification (Foundation or Practitioner) preferred
  • Familiarity with Australian government contracting environments, machinery of government processes, and public sector governance frameworks preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Miro, or similar tools
  • Must hold Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency; candidates with the ability to obtain an Australian Government security clearance will be highly regarded
