Project Manager – Civil Infrastructure Delivery

ALIGA Pty Ltd is seeking expressions of interest from an experienced Project Manager to support the delivery of major civil infrastructure works across North Queensland.

This is a client-side project delivery role suited to a capable civil infrastructure Project Manager with strong experience in road and bridge construction, programme management, contract interfaces, stakeholder coordination and project reporting.

The successful candidate will assist in managing a portfolio of road and bridge projects, with individual project values expected to range from approximately $50M to $150M. Project types may include road widening, overtaking lanes, bridge replacements, road safety upgrades, and greenfield and brownfield road construction.

The role is preferably based in Cairns, with Townsville also considered. Some site travel will be required as part of the delivery role.

Role Overview

As Project Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the successful delivery of assigned civil infrastructure projects within agreed time, cost, quality, safety and governance requirements.

You will work closely with engineering, commercial, design, construction and stakeholder teams to coordinate project delivery, monitor progress, manage risks and issues, and maintain clear reporting across the programme.

This role requires someone who can operate confidently in a structured government infrastructure delivery environment and bring practical civil construction knowledge to project decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Managing the delivery of assigned road and bridge infrastructure projects

Monitoring project time, cost, quality, risk and programme performance

Supporting delivery of road widening, overtaking lane, road safety and bridge replacement works

Coordinating consultants, contractors, designers, internal teams and external stakeholders

Reviewing and contributing to design, constructability, staging and delivery planning

Supporting procurement, tender evaluation, engagement and management of consultants and contractors

Monitoring project budgets, forecasts, expenditure and financial reporting

Preparing project reports, status updates, submissions and briefing material

Managing project risks, issues, changes and stakeholder matters

Supporting contract administration, contractual correspondence and contract performance management

Ensuring project documentation aligns with relevant standards, specifications, policies and governance requirements

Supporting safety, quality, environmental, cultural heritage and native title considerations across delivery

Attending project meetings, site inspections and stakeholder meetings as required

About You

Demonstrated project management experience in civil infrastructure delivery

Strong road and bridge construction experience

Experience delivering road widening, overtaking lane, safety upgrade or bridge replacement projects

Working knowledge of Queensland road infrastructure standards, specifications and contract management requirements

Experience with OnQ or similar structured project governance frameworks

Strong commercial, programme and reporting capability

Ability to manage multiple stakeholders across design, construction, operations, utilities, property and community interfaces

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work autonomously while contributing effectively to a broader project team

A practical, solutions-focused approach to project delivery

Highly Regarded

DTMR or Queensland transport infrastructure experience

PMC01 or PMC02 capability / prequalification experience

Civil engineering, engineering technology, project management or equivalent qualifications

RPEQ registration, where applicable

Experience on medium to high value infrastructure projects

Experience in both greenfield and brownfield road construction environments

Location: Cairns, QLD preferred

Alternative location: Townsville considered

Start: 6 July 2026

Term: 2 years, with potential 1-year extension

Hours: Approx. 40 hours per week

Project values: Approx. $50M–$150M

Engagement: Contract / ABN arrangement

Travel: Site inspections and project travel as required
