For over 20 years the Lizard Centre has been a leader in Applied Behaviour Analysis and early intervention in Australia. We provide high-quality, evidence-based therapy and supports for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other developmental conditions.

The purpose of this role is to implement a Behaviour Intervention and/ or Behaviour Support Plan by building the skills of the children and adolescents which we support in their daily lives. This would involve the Therapy Assistant to work in a variety of settings, including in direct therapy sessions, social engagement and in respite and support work.

We Are Currently Seeking An Enthusiastic And Passionate Behavioural Therapy Assistant Who Is Available To Work With a Family In Wattle Park For 2 Weekly Shifts

  • Monday 9:00am-11:00am
  • Friday 9:00am-11:00am

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 therapy and supports to clients in varied settings, including home/clinic/school/in the community.
  • Support clients in developing their skills; communication, social interactions and emotional regulation.
  • Collect client data to track progress and identify areas of improvement.
  • Foster and support a positive environment that encourages client participation.

Skills & Experience

  • Studying or completed a Degree/ Certificate in Psychology, Disability, Education, Occupational Therapy or related field (preferred)
  • Experience working with children is highly desirable
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A passion for helping individuals reach their full potential

Requirements

  • Right to Work in Australia
  • Working with Children Check & NDIS Workers Screening Check (or willing to obtain)
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module - 'Quality, Safety and You'
  • Australian Driver's License & Vehicle
  • First Aid/CPR (Current) and willing to maintain
  • Laptop/iPad - you will be using your own device on shift
