- Full-Time (35hpw) Temporary to September 2027
- Salary Range $105,986 - $124,957pa + super
- Sydney CBD location with hybrid working
The Customer Care Experience team in the Digital Business and Customer Care (DBCC) team is looking for a Software Engineer to join the team!. This is a great chance to broaden your experience, work on high-impact products like Savings Finder, Disaster Assistance Finder and online booking that support partner agencies and small businesses in NSW.
You will collaborate with a passionate team that values quality and continuous improvement.
The successful candidate will also play a key role in supporting the implementation of the Customer Care Service Model recommendations and how they impact on the above key products and services.
Our products use the standard Service NSW tech stack (such as Spring Boot with Kotlin, React with Typescript/Javascript, Apigee, AWS etc).
What You’ll Work On
- Maintain the security profile of our products and ensure compliance with Service NSW security standards
- Work on supporting our products through crucial horizontal initiatives like ROSA migration, Unify and Transaction Log migration
- Build applications using Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery
- Take ownership of challenges and take them to resolution
- Know how to communicate to unblock work across teams using Agile best practices
- Support product managers and designers in driving smart implementation of high impact solutions to business and customer problems
What We’re Looking For
- Experience with the standard tech stack at Service NSW (Spring Boot with Kotlin, React with Typescript/Javascript, Apigee, AWS etc).
- Knowledge of Essential Standards and Sensible Defaults
- Full stack experience in modern languages like Kotlin, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript (React and Node).
- Experience with AWS cloud platforms and containerised infrastructure.
- Embrace XP practices and are open to learning and contributing to a strong engineering culture.
- Communicate well, enjoy working in product teams, and care about the end-to-end customer journey.
Essential Requirements
To be considered for roles in the NSW public sector, applicants must:
- Be NSW residents or in the process of relocating to NSW
- Hold appropriate working rights for the type of employment offered - Fixed Term roles require valid work rights for the full duration of the role

Our recruitment process
Our recruitment and assessment process is merit based. For this recruitment we will be conducting a minimum of three interview and assessment stages that form a comparative process. This will include:
