Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Associate Director, Automation & Development to join the Digital Health division.
Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne’s rapidly growing outer north.
Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals Centres and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg.
About the Role
Northern Health is seeking an experienced and motivated Associate Director, Automation & Development to join the Digital Health division.
Reporting to the Director of Development, this role sits at the intersection of automation, clinical workflow optimisation, and software development. You will lead a small technical team while delivering intelligent automation solutions that improve clinical and operational efficiency across the organisation.
Working closely with clinical and business stakeholders, you will identify workflow improvement opportunities, guide solution design, and oversee the development and support of enterprise automation platforms and applications.
The role combines technical leadership with hands-on delivery across Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate), automation technologies, and Northern Health’s broader development environment including Ruby on Rails, React, and SQL-based integrations.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Demonstrated experience delivering enterprise automation and software solutions
- Experience leading technical projects or mentoring junior developers
- Strong stakeholder engagement and business process mapping capability
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across complex environments
- Experience with Microsoft Power Platform and automation technologies
- Healthcare experience and knowledge of HL7, FHIR or EMR platforms (highly regarded)
