Operations Manager

Bluestone Recruitment is partnered with a growing residential builder delivering medium-density and boutique residential projects across Victoria.

Due to continued growth, the business is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to drive workflow, accountability, and operational performance across the pre-construction and delivery functions of the business.

This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who understands residential construction operations, can work closely with team leaders, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where process, communication, and delivery are critical.

The Role

Reporting to senior leadership, you will oversee operational workflow across drafting, estimating, project administration, and project management teams.

You’ll play a key role in ensuring projects progress efficiently through the business, identifying bottlenecks, driving accountability, and supporting leadership with operational decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Oversee workflow and operational performance across pre-construction and delivery teams
• Work closely with team leaders across drafting, estimating, project administration, and project management
• Monitor key project timelines, milestones, and delivery outcomes
• Identify workflow issues, gather key information, and escalate recommendations to leadership
• Drive outcomes on the ground to ensure projects are progressing to target timeframes
• Lead process improvement initiatives to improve efficiency and communication across the business
• Provide reporting, forecasting, and operational updates to senior management
• Support business growth through strong operational structure and leadership

About You

• Proven experience within residential construction operations
• Strong understanding of medium-density or volume residential building projects
• Confident managing teams, driving accountability, and having difficult conversations when required
• Process-driven with strong organisational and problem-solving ability
• Able to work both strategically and in the detail of day-to-day operations
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Thorough understanding of the Victorian residential construction market
