Avina is a national allied health and behaviour support organisation supporting communities across Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland and South Australia.
At Avina, we believe great therapy starts with supported clinicians. That’s why we’ve built a structured internship pathway designed to help Provisional Psychologists develop confidence, capability and genuine clinical experience within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment.
What The Internship Can Offer You
Our 12-month program is designed for graduates completing the 5+1 pathway in Australia, offering:
- Full AHPRA primary and secondary supervision (no out-of-pocket costs)
- Experienced supervision and leadership support
- Structured onboarding and clinical ramp-up to support learning and development
- Mentoring and support from Senior and Lead Psychologists
- Diverse caseload opportunities across the lifespan to support AHPRA competencies
- Access to professional development and ongoing learning opportunities
- A collaborative MDT environment with strong peer support

Your 12-Month Journey
- Comprehensive induction including shadowing and soft skills development
- Gradually increasing caseloads tailored to your interests and experience level
- Regular clinical and operational supervision
- Group supervision and peer reflective practice opportunities
- Hands-on experience administering, scoring and interpreting assessments
- Exposure to diverse presentations, populations and cross-cultural contexts
- Opportunities to work across community, clinic and telehealth environments
Who We’re Looking For
- Completed Master of Professional Psychology (5+1) graduates ready to complete their internship year
- Strong communicators with humility, curiosity and willingness to learn
- Passion for supporting people across the lifespan, particularly within disability and community settings
- Clinicians committed to ethical practice and working within scope
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle
- Relevant checks or willingness to obtain them
