Days & Hours of Work: Monday – Friday 38 hours per week

Competitive Salary: Band 4 - $74,980 p.a. + 12% superannuation

Location: Corporate Centre in Sandringham, with the flexibility to work from home

About the Role

The key purpose of the People and Culture Support Officer is to provide administrative support to the People and Culture department to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of People services. The role supports a range of People and Culture activities including Organisational Development, learning support, HR business partnering, talent and recruitment, and payroll processes, ensuring tasks are completed accurately, in a timely manner and in accordance with Council policies and procedures.

You will be responsible to:

  • Provide administrative support across People and Culture functions, including organisational development, learning, HR advisory, recruitment and payroll
  • Support employee lifecycle and recruitment processes, including documentation, job postings, pre-employment checks and maintaining accurate employee records
  • Maintain accurate People and Culture systems and data, and support payroll and administrative transactions in line with Council procedures

Key Selection Criteria

To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and competencies:

  • Demonstrated experience in an administrative support role, preferably in a HR or People and Culture environment
  • Effective time management skills with the ability to manage multiple administrative activities within established timeframes
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team to support shared outcomes
  • Familiarity with HR Information systems such as Aurion and PageUp (Authority Altitude is desirable)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and standard business systems

Mandatory pre-employment requirements

  • Be willing to undergo and complete a satisfactory criminal history check
  • Provide or obtain an employment-based Working with Children check
