Architect (Registered Architect)

We are looking to expand our team of talented and dedicated people to collaborate on projects throughout Australia and New Zealand. We are seeking an experienced Architect to join our Perth Studio in a full time, permanent capacity, supporting our multidisciplinary teams.

Skills & Experience

Architects work under the direction of the Studio Directors, requiring close working relationships with their project team at MODE to deliver high quality design, documentation and construction outcomes. They will lead their team in a highly effective manner which includes mentoring and overviewing Architects and junior staff as appropriate to meet deadlines and project requirements.

Profile and Responsibilities

Successful candidates will have

Qualifications & Industry Knowledge: Tertiary qualification in Architecture recognised in Australia and current Architectural Registration. Strong understanding of local, state, and national planning regulations, legislation, and construction codes. Preferred project experience in at least 1 of the below sectors:

  • Defence (Ability to obtain and maintain clearance through AGSVA required)
  • Education
  • Health
  • Community (Local Authority Public Works)

Design & Technical Capability: Demonstrated experience across multiple project stages with strong design, documentation and technical capability. Ability to contribute to conceptual design, design development and construction documentation.

Project Coordination & Delivery Capability: Proven ability to contribute to project coordination and support delivery of multiple tasks within agreed time, quality and scope parameters.

Stakeholder & Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships with clients, consultants and internal teams, and motivation to exceed client expectations. Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment.

Design Technology & BIM Capability: Proficiency in Revit and BIM workflows with the ability to contribute to high quality project documentation and coordination. Advanced Revit and BIM knowledge will be highly regarded.

You will be able to

Contribute to Design and Delivery: Prepare conceptual designs, design development documentation and construction documentation across a range of project types and sectors.

Coordinate Compliance and Client Requirements: Assist in coordinating sub-consultants, documentation and approvals while supporting compliance with codes, standards and WHS requirements.

Support Studio Operations: Support studio operations through assisting with fee proposals, tenders and business development activities, while contributing positively to team culture, BIM processes and mentoring of junior staff where appropriate.
