The Oncology Treatment Centre (OTC) at Maitland Hospital provides high-quality chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy and supportive cancer treatments to patients across the region. About the Role
This is an opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of patients and families throughout their cancer treatment journey. As a Registered Nurse within the Oncology Treatment Centre, you will provide expert clinical care while building meaningful therapeutic relationships with patients receiving chemotherapy, immunotherapy and other infusion therapies. Working collaboratively with oncologists, pharmacists, Clinical Nurse Consultants and allied health professionals, you will safely administer treatments, monitor patient responses and provide education and emotional support to patients and their families. This role offers the perfect balance of advanced clinical practice and compassionate patient-centred care within a dynamic and highly specialised environment.
About You
You are a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse with oncology experience and a strong commitment to delivering safe, high-quality patient care. You thrive within a collaborative team environment and bring strong clinical judgement, attention to detail and the ability to support patients and families through challenging and vulnerable moments with empathy and professionalism.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Demonstrated competency and experience in chemotherapy administration (SACT or equivalent)
- Competency in central venous access device management (PICC, CVAD, IVC access)
- Strong clinical judgement, attention to detail and patient‑focused approach
- Ability to work cohesively within a supportive multidisciplinary team
- Experience managing oncological emergencies and understanding of cancer treatment pathways/symptom management is desirable
