Details: Palmerston District Primary School is in the Gungahlin region with an enrolment of 689 students.
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our admin team. This is a temporary position with a possibility of extension up to 12 months. This position is an active member of the Palmerston District Primary School assisting with the operations of the school business and is accountable to the ACT Education Directorate. The Finance Officer will work under general direction in relation to established priorities, task methodology and work practices to provide support to the Business Manager in the day-to-day administration of the school in line with school requirements and Directorate priorities.

Eligibility/Other requirements
- Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required. For further information on Working with Vulnerable People registration refer to - Apply for or renew a WWVP registration - Access Canberra
- First Aid Certificate or a willingness to undertake appropriate training.
Desirables
- Financial qualifications or relevant experience
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Business qualifications or experience in a business-related role
- Experience in an administration role.
- Knowledge of school specific software including Sentral.
Note: This is a temporary position available from 3 August 2026 to 2 July 2027, with the possibility of extension for up to 12 months.
