Full-time, permanent | Bentleigh East + Bayside locations | SACS Level 6

Join a service that changes lives

At Better Health Network, we’re transforming community health across Melbourne’s south-east — and we’re looking for an inspiring leader to help shape the future of Gambler’s Help services.

This is more than a leadership role. It’s an opportunity to lead a passionate multidisciplinary team delivering life-changing support to people impacted by gambling harm, while influencing innovation, integration, and service excellence across mental health, AOD, and community health.

If you’re energised by leading people, strengthening services, and creating real impact in the community, this is the role for you.

Why this role stands out

You’ll lead a highly valued service that supports people experiencing gambling-related harm through trauma-informed, recovery-oriented and person-centred care. Working across BHN sites and the community, you’ll guide a skilled and compassionate team while building strong partnerships that improve outcomes for vulnerable and marginalised communities.

As part of a growing leadership group at BHN, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Shape and strengthen an essential community service
  • Inspire and mentor a passionate multidisciplinary team
  • Drive innovation, service improvement, and integrated care
  • Influence positive outcomes for individuals, families, and communities
  • Be part of an organisation investing in leadership and growth

About The Role

Working closely with the Program Manager and broader leadership team, you’ll oversee day-to-day service delivery, clinical practice support, team capability, and operational excellence across Gambler’s Help Services.

You’ll create a positive and high-performing team culture while ensuring services remain safe, responsive, compliant, and focused on client wellbeing.

This Role Will See You

  • Lead, coach, and support a multidisciplinary workforce
  • Strengthen integrated service delivery across mental health and AOD programs
  • Support staff development, supervision, and onboarding
  • Drive continuous improvement and service innovation
  • Build strong stakeholder and community partnerships
  • Ensure quality, compliance, and excellent client outcomes

About You

You’re a confident and compassionate leader who thrives in dynamic community settings. You know how to motivate teams, navigate complexity, and foster a culture where people feel supported, empowered, and connected to purpose.

You’ll Bring

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in health, social work, community services, or related discipline
  • Experience leading teams within health or community services
  • Strong operational, stakeholder engagement, and people leadership skills
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, and culturally safe practice
  • A collaborative mindset with a passion for continuous improvement and innovation
  • Experience in mental health, AOD, or gambling harm services will be highly regarded.

Why join BHN?

  • Purpose-driven work with genuine community impact
  • Supportive and progressive leadership culture
  • Opportunities to lead innovation and service growth
  • Career development during an exciting period of transformation
  • Flexible and collaborative work environment
  • NFP salary packaging + meal entertainment benefits up to $18,900
